Incident
happened in 1958 |
|
|
|
The
registration renewal for our car was due in a few days, but Elaine and I had
no money to pay the $12 fee. We were already having to trust God for grocery
money each week. There simply wasn’t any money for extras. We committed the
need to the Lord and waited for His provision in answer to prayer. No answer
was immediately forthcoming. |
|
The final
day came. We had to have those funds if we were to drive our car legally.
That day the mail brought a gift of $12 from a friend. But that was not all;
also enclosed in the envelope was a Motor Vehicle Department application to
be filled out and submitted along with the fee! There was absolutely no
question but that God had sent that money to meet that need. |
|
So don’t
worry at all about having enough food and clothing [and money to renew your
car registration!] Why be like the heathen? For they …. are deeply concerned
about them. But your heavenly Father already knows perfectly well that you need them, and he will give them to you
if you give him first place in your life and live as he wants you to. |
|
(Matthew
6:31-33, TLB, emphasis added) |
|
Every little
(and big) thing that concerns you, or that you have need of, is known
‘perfectly well’ by your heavenly Father who delights to do for His children.
Never forget that! |
