Rejoicing at the destruction of those who hate us |

Wisdom
says: “Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad
when he stumbleth: Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn
away his wrath from him” (Proverbs 24:17-18). |

Therefore,
brothers, take heed that you don’t rejoice when God punishes those who wrong
us because God dislikes such a behaviour. Imitate Job, who was an upright man
who feared God, who said he did not rejoice at the destruction of those who
hated him nor did he lift himself up when evil found them (Job 31:29). |
