Healing
3. Can I ask God to heal me? |
Of course,
you can because our God is the Lord who heals us, as He Himself said to
Israel: “If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is
right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I
will put none of the diseases on you, which I have brought on the Egyptians.
For I am the Lord who heals you” (Exodus |
Therefore,
if you are sick you can say to God: “Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed”
(Jeremiah |
According
to the apostle James, however, you should call for the elders of the Church
you attend so that they may pray over you anointing you with oil, as he says:
“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the Church, and let
them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the
prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he
has committed sins, he will be forgiven” (James |
If the
Church you attend does not believe in divine healing, and the elders make you
understand that they have no intention of praying over you anointing you with
oil in the name of the Lord, keep on praying the Lord that He may heal you.
Another thing, it is also a good thing to pray for one another that we may be
healed; that’s what James commands us to do (James 5:16). |
Do not be
deceived by those who say that divine healing is not for us any longer,
because they lie against the truth. |
